The shrimp fleet still ties up here. Shem Creek is the working edge of Mount Pleasant — a tidal cut running off the harbour, lined with docks, where boats unload a few yards from where people are eating.
Seven places to eat, drink or buy fish off the boat sit along it. Six outfitters run kayaks, paddleboards and charters out of the same water, and there are two public landings. The boardwalk through Shem Creek Park carries you out over the marsh.
