Wonders' Way, the 2.7-mile paved path slung along the bridge's north side - twelve feet wide, free, and the highest walk in the Lowcountry. Named for Garrett Wonders, a cyclist killed training for the 2004 Olympic trials. The signed trailhead with free parking and restrooms is on the Mount Pleasant end.

Wonders' Way runs 2.7 miles along the bridge, twelve feet wide and paved the whole distance, and it costs nothing to walk or ride. The climb tops out higher than anywhere else you can reach on foot in the Lowcountry, with the harbour on one side and the Cooper River running inland on the other. The signed trailhead, with free parking and restrooms, is on the Mount Pleasant end. The path carries the name of Garrett Wonders, a Navy officer and cyclist who was killed by a driver while training for the 2004 Olympic trials.
