The building on Chalmers Street where enslaved people were sold, now a museum on the site itself.
Old Slave Mart Museum
The museum occupies the building on Chalmers Street where slave auctions were held after they were pushed off the open street in 1856. It is the only such structure still standing in South Carolina, and the exhibits stay with what happened in this room rather than the abstraction of the trade. The cobbles outside are original.
