Mercer Williams House
The house on Monterey Square was begun for General Hugh Mercer before the Civil War and finished long after it, and it is known now as Jim Williams's house and the setting of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Tours cover the ground floor and the collection Williams assembled. The family still lives upstairs, which is why the tour stops where it does.
