Creator & Collab Terms

These terms govern the Lowcountry Creators marketplace — for the businesses that book
collabs and the creators who perform them. They supplement the
Terms of Service. “We” is Lowcountry One, the operator of lowcountry.one.

What a collab is

A collab is a disclosed sponsored partnership: a business pays a creator,
through us, to visit and produce content about the business, published on the creator’s own
channels and accompanied by a sponsored feature on lowcountry.one. It is advertising, and it is
labeled as advertising everywhere it appears. We do not sell, and will never sell, reviews that
pretend to be organic.

Our role

We operate the marketplace: we vet and list creators, present their packages, process the
booking payment, host the deal messaging, publish the sponsored feature, and pay the creator.
The creative work itself is performed by the creator as an independent party. We facilitate and
mediate; we are not the employer of any creator and not the agent of any business.

Money

  • Businesses pay up front. The full package price is charged at booking
    through Stripe and held by us while the work happens.
  • Platform fee. We retain a platform fee (currently 20% of the package
    price) for operating the marketplace, vetting, payment handling, and the published feature.
    The remainder is the creator’s.
  • Creators are paid after approval. Payout is released after the business
    approves the delivered content and the lowcountry.one feature is published.
  • Taxes. Creators are independent contractors, not employees. Creators are
    responsible for their own taxes; where required, we issue the applicable IRS information
    return (such as a 1099) for payouts.

Disclosure — non-negotiable

Every piece of social content produced under a collab must carry a clear, conspicuous paid-
partnership disclosure that satisfies FTC guidance: #ad, the platform’s native
“Paid partnership” label, or both. The sponsored feature we publish on lowcountry.one is
labeled “Sponsored.” A creator who publishes collab content without disclosure must fix it
immediately; repeated failures end the relationship. Businesses may not ask creators to skip
disclosure — asking is grounds for removal from the marketplace.

Honest content

Sponsorship buys coverage, not opinions. The business chooses what’s promoted; the creator
keeps their own voice and describes their genuine experience. A business may not require
specific praise, star language, or scripted claims, and may not condition approval on the
content being uncritically positive. Approval exists to confirm the deliverables match the
package and brief — not to purchase enthusiasm. Content must also be accurate: no claims the
business can’t substantiate.

The deal lifecycle

  • Accept window. Creators should accept or decline within 3 days of a paid
    booking. A declined or expired booking is refunded in full.
  • Scheduling. Creator and business coordinate the visit in the deal thread.
  • Delivery. The creator submits links to the posted content through the
    dashboard.
  • One revision included. The business may request one reasonable revision
    consistent with the original brief. Additional or out-of-brief revisions are at the creator’s
    discretion or by separate agreement.
  • Approval. When the deliverables match the package and brief, the business
    approves; we then publish the sponsored feature and release the creator’s payout.

Cancellations and refunds

  • Creator declines, doesn’t respond, or cancels before the visit: full refund.
  • Business cancels before the creator has begun work: full refund.
  • Business cancels after content is produced, or refuses approval of deliverables that match
    the package and brief: no automatic refund — we review the deal record and decide fairly, and
    our decision on the held funds is final.
  • After approval: the collab is complete and non-refundable.

Content ownership and license

The creator owns the content they make. By completing a collab, the creator grants the
booking business a perpetual, non-exclusive license to reshare and use the collab content for
its own marketing, and grants us the right to publish, embed, and excerpt the content in the
sponsored feature and around lowcountry.one. Businesses agree the creator may leave the content
live on their channels as part of their portfolio.

Conduct and removal

Be professional; deliver what you sell; show up when you say you will. We may remove either
party from the marketplace for disclosure violations, fabricated metrics, harassment, no-shows,
attempts to move payment off-platform to avoid the fee, or anything else that damages trust in
the marketplace. Removal doesn’t erase obligations on deals already in flight.
