Welcome to lowcountry.one, operated by Lowcountry One (“we,” “us”). These terms govern your use of the
site and everything on it — the magazine, the directories, the store, the events calendar, the
real-estate pages, the AI concierge, and the Lowcountry Creators marketplace. By using the site
you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use the site.
Your account
Most of the site works without an account. Some features — saving favorites across devices,
booking a creator collab, the collabs dashboard — require one. You’re responsible for what
happens under your account and for keeping your password to yourself. Accounts are free. We can
suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, abuses other users, or does anything that
smells like fraud.
What you post
Some parts of the site accept content from you: messages inside a collab deal, ratings and
review text after a completed collab, creator applications, and inquiry forms. When you submit
content you give us a non-exclusive license to store it, display it where it belongs (a rating
on a creator’s profile, for example), and use it to operate the site. You keep ownership.
Don’t post anything unlawful, defamatory, or that you don’t have the right to share. We may
remove content that violates these rules.
Paying for things
Payments on this site are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
Prices are shown before you pay, and what a payment buys is described at checkout. For creator
collab bookings specifically: if the creator declines your booking or the collab is cancelled
before work begins, you receive a full refund. Refunds and disputes are handled by us — write
to [email protected] and a human will sort it out. The detailed rules for collab
bookings live in the Creator & Collab Terms, which are part
of these terms.
Subscriptions that renew
Some paid features on this site are subscriptions rather than one-off purchases. A
subscription is billed in advance for a period you choose at checkout — monthly or annual — at
the price shown to you before you pay.
- It renews on its own. A subscription continues, and the card on file is
charged again, at the start of each new period until you cancel it. There is no separate
reminder before a renewal. - You can cancel at any time, from your own account. Cancelling stops the
next charge. It does not end the period you have already paid for: access continues to the end
of that period, and the subscription lapses at that point. - Part-periods are not refunded unless the law requires it. Cancelling
halfway through a month does not produce a half-month refund, which is why cancelling takes
effect at the end of the period rather than immediately. - Price changes apply from the next renewal, never the current one, and you
will be told before one takes effect so you can cancel first if you would rather not pay it. - A failed payment does not cancel the subscription by itself. If a charge
fails we retry and tell you; access can be suspended while a payment is outstanding.

Advertising and paid placement
Parts of this site are paid for by advertisers, and some positions within our directories can
be bought. Anything paid is labeled where it appears, and what can and cannot be bought is set
out in our Advertising & Editorial Disclosures. Editorial
coverage and ratings are not for sale, and a payment never changes what a review or a
description says.
The marketplace: our role
Lowcountry Creators connects local businesses with local content creators. We facilitate the
booking, hold the payment, shepherd the deal, and publish a sponsored feature — but the content
itself is made by an independent creator, not by us. We vet creators before listing them, and
we mediate problems, but we are not a party to the creative relationship and don’t guarantee
any particular business result from a collab.
Real-estate information
Listings, school pages, neighborhood pages, and other real-estate content on this site are
provided for general information only. They come from data feeds and public sources that can
lag or contain errors. Nothing here is brokerage, legal, tax, or investment advice, and nothing
here creates an agency relationship. Verify anything that matters with a licensed professional
before acting on it.
AI features
The “Ask Lowcountry” concierge and similar features use artificial intelligence to answer
questions about the area. AI answers can be wrong, out of date, or incomplete — restaurant
hours change, events get cancelled, models make mistakes. Treat AI answers as a starting point,
not gospel, and confirm details that matter (reservations, ferry times, prices) with the
business itself.
Links and referrals
The site links out constantly — to shops, restaurants, booking engines, ticket sellers, and
boutique stores whose products appear in our store section. Those sites are not ours. When you
buy from them, their terms and privacy policies apply, not ours. Some outbound links are
referral links; see our Advertising & Editorial Disclosures.
Copyright complaints
If you believe something on this site infringes your copyright, email
[email protected] with (1) the URL where the material appears, (2) a description
of the copyrighted work, (3) your contact information, and (4) a statement that you believe in
good faith the use is unauthorized. We respond to complete notices promptly and remove
infringing material.
Disclaimers and limits
The site is provided as-is. We work hard to keep information accurate, but we make no
warranty that any of it is complete, current, or error-free, and we disclaim implied warranties
to the fullest extent the law allows. To the same fullest extent, our total liability to you
for any claim arising out of the site is limited to the greater of one hundred dollars or the
amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits
liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to its
conflict-of-law rules. Disputes belong in the state or federal courts located in South
Carolina, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
Changes
We update these terms as the site grows. The “last updated” date at the top tells you when.
Material changes will be flagged on the site. Using the site after a change means you accept
the new terms.
