Tybee Island Lighthouse

The light station has stood at the mouth of the Savannah River since 1736, though the tower you climb dates largely from 1867. It is 178 steps to the gallery and the view runs from the river bar to the back river. The keepers' cottages and the summer kitchen survive, which is rare, and the ticket covers the museum in the battery across the road.
