Leashed dogs are fine
Unusually for a national wildlife refuge, ACE Basin allows dogs — Pinckney Island and the Savannah refuge do not. Dogs and cats only, restrained on a leash and under control at all times.

The ACE Basin National Wildlife Refuge in Hollywood offers visitors the chance to explore one of the Atlantic coast's largest undeveloped estuaries. You can discover a landscape of rivers and marshlands here, alongside the historic 1828 Grove Plantation house. This expansive refuge provides a free and immersive Lowcountry experience.
