The Sands is Port Royal’s own beach, a short crescent on Battery Creek with a boat ramp at one end and an observation boardwalk at the other. People come to hunt fossil shark teeth along the waterline at low tide, and they find them. The boardwalk climbs high enough to see over the marsh toward Parris Island.
