A pond, boardwalk and butterfly garden run as a nature preserve in the middle of Ridgeland.
Blue Heron Nature Center
The centre is a pond and a loop of boardwalk on the edge of Ridgeland, with a butterfly garden and a small education building. Wading birds work the shallows most of the year and the turtles are unbothered by anybody. It takes half an hour and costs nothing.
